Tutorial: A 10-hour rain video for sleep
Sleep-sound videos are the workhorses of ambient YouTube — uploaded once, watched (and slept to) for years. We'll build a 10-hour rain-on-window video in Sound mode: 40 credits, about ten minutes of your attention.
- 1
Start a Sound-mode project
Dashboard → New Project → switch the mode to Sound.
- 2
Pick a template (or write your own)
Choose the thunderstorm template, or write: sound — "steady heavy rain on glass, distant soft thunder, no music"; visual — "bedroom window at night, rain streaks lit by a street lamp, dark and calm".
- 3
Set duration to 10 hours
Select the 10 hours preset (40 credits). If your tier doesn't show it yet, any extra credit pack unlocks Studio-level durations — see Plans & billing.
- 4
Check the audio preview
Listen to the short preview with the question "could I fall asleep to this?" — you want steady texture, no startling peaks. Regenerate until it's right; it's free.
- 5
Pick the visual
Review the scene image and its animated loop. For sleep content, darker and slower wins — viewers leave it on a TV in a dark room.
- 6
Assemble and let it run
Ten-hour renders take a while — start assembly and walk away; it finishes in the background. Meanwhile polish the SEO pack: keep "10 hours", "rain sounds" and "for sleeping" in the title.
- 7
Download promptly
The file will be several gigabytes. Download on a stable connection within 30 days (why), then upload straight to YouTube.
